As many of you know I have a new apartment. I moved in a little over a month ago. I was all moved in in a matter of hours; however, I didn’t have everything I wanted for my apartment. I needed a couch, dresser, nightstand, and a TV stand. Those were the big things that I didn’t have ahead of time. I have it all planned out now, but I didn’t in the beginning.
Note to future self and anyone moving into their first apartment- buy tools! My dad had told me to, but I didn’t listen. Just do it guys! I luckily had a ‘tool box’ (its not actually a box, but not the point). In my tool box I had a screw driver that could be a flat head or phillips a normal wrench and a socket wrench with way to many attachments.
Yesterday I got my nightstand and I needed a screwdriver and hammer. I improvised the hammer, but this does me I will finally go get one this weekend. Just in case I need one again. I know I will sooner or later.
Anyways, don’t make the same mistake as me and be all excited to set up your new furniture and not be prepared. The only reason I had the tools is because it’s a set I leave in my car. It if wasn’t for my dad insisting at some point I have a tool kit in my car I wouldn’t have been able to put the nightstand together until I made a hardware store run.
Long story short have a tool box/kit. Save yourself some time! Not to mention the struggle when you don’t chave the right tools. I would have loved to finish building my nightstand sooner than I did.
